Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, belonging to Muslim League-N, voluntarily deposited the full amount of gifts taken from Tosha Khana in the treasury after the record of Tosha Khana was made public.
Ahsan Iqbal has shared the letter that he has written to the Secretary of the Cabinet Division. In this letter, they have said that although they are not bound by law, they are voluntarily depositing the gifts to clear any doubts. He has also sent a check of Rs 19 lakh 91 thousand to the cabinet division.
According to the letter, Ahsan Iqbal received three gifts from Tosha Khana, including two Rolex watches and a carpet. He took the men’s watch (worth 1.5 lakh rupees) for three lakh four thousand while the women’s watch (worth eight lakh rupees) for one lakh 49 thousand rupees. Apart from this, he had paid 20 thousand rupees for the carpet worth 1 lakh 39 thousand rupees.
It should be noted that the record of Tosha Khana was made public on Sunday on behalf of the government on the order of the court. This record provides details of gifts received at the Tosha Khana since 2002.
