WhatsApp is upgrading its multi-device capabilities by enabling users to access the same account on up to five phones simultaneously. This new feature operates similarly to connecting WhatsApp on web browsers, tablets, and desktops, where each new phone is linked individually.
All messages, media, and phone conversations will maintain end-to-end encryption, as each connected phone establishes its own separate connection to WhatsApp. Additionally, if your primary phone remains inactive “for a long period” (although WhatsApp doesn’t specify an exact duration), you will be automatically logged out of all companion devices.
By connecting phones as companion devices, messaging becomes more convenient. Users can now easily switch between phones without logging out, seamlessly continuing conversations from where they left off.
