Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday announced joining hands with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on the matter of the election of Mayor Karachi.
PTI has assured to support the JI candidate for the post of Karachi mayor.
PTI accused Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of rigging the elections for Karachi mayor.
Earlier, JI had also accused PPP for the same reason.
PTI stated that PPP is abducting elected local body representatives through Sindh Police.
Added, local body representatives are being abducted before taking the oath.
People’s Party, which ran back four times from the local body elections, wants to elect the mayor in this situation; PTI Karachi stated.
On this matter, PTI has already approached the court and demanded the election of Mayor Karachi through a transparent process.
PTI also stated that PPP and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) do not want to accept a public mandate.
