5 UAE supermarkets offer up to 75% discount for Ramadan

Massive discounts are available at hypermarkets and supermarkets across the UAE for Ramadan. The holy month will likely to begin on March 23 as per astronomical calculations, Khaleej Times reports.

Residents start preparing for the month well in advance, as they will be fasting from dawn to dusk and hosting several Iftar parties, whipping up traditional delicacies and experimenting with new recipes.

Shoppers can benefit from up to 75 percent off on over 10,000 food and nonfood products during the holy month. Several retailers have announced reduction of prices which will have a positive economic impact on consumers, said the report published recently.

Here is the list of Ramadan deals from hypermarkets and supermarkets:

LuLu Hypermarkets: The retailer announced the launch of a massive Ramadan campaign in their 97 UAE hypermarkets. Shoppers will be able to take advantage of a variety of special offers and promotions, both online and offline, Khaleej Times said.

Shoppers can save up to 60% off selected products in various categories such as groceries, food, fresh produce, home appliances, electronics, and furnishings.

Lulu has also announced a ‘price lock’ campaign for the Ramadan shopping season. As part of the initiative, over 200 products have been chosen to be sold at the same price, regardless of market conditions, throughout Ramadan, allowing shoppers to save money.

Union Coop: During the holy month, shoppers can purchase over 10,000 basic food and nonfood products from the Dubai-based retailer, which launched a Ramadan campaign offering discounts of up to 75 percent on essential products, according to the report.

Throughout the Ramadan campaign, these offers and discounts will be made available in all branches, as well as on its online store and smart app. To meet the increasing demand during Ramadan, all commodities, including food and beverages, electronics, and household appliances, are included.

Carrefour: Carrefour, owned by Majid Al Futtaim, has launched discounts of up to 50 percent on over 6,000 products and will increase stock availability by 15 percent to meet increased demand throughout the fasting month, the report said.

The campaign extends over six weeks and will see discounts on bulk buys, exclusive offers from international brands, and discounts on its own private label. This extensive range of locally developed items averages 27 per cent more value when compared to leading brands of the same high quality, the retailer said.

Al Adil Trading: As part of the company’s initiative to support the community during the holy month, the retailer also offers good discounts to customers.

“Our promotions and discounts run for 45 days, starting 15 days prior to the start of Ramadan and ending a few days after Ramadan. This year, we will offer up to 50 per cent discounts on over 400 products. We will be offering a good reduction on items that are heavily consumed by the people who fast such as rice powder, black chickpeas, sugar, juices, syrups and fresh vegetables,” said Dr Datar.

AlMaya Supermarket: Over 50 Al Maya Supermarkets will offer promotions and discounts on over 480 items, including beverages, frozen foods, fresh produce, and other grocery items, for 45 days, according to Khaleej Times.
